Wrinkle Injections and Skin Boosters Explained:

At VF Aesthetics, we believe that because we understand the anatomy of the face better than anyone, we are perfectly placed to help you look and feel your best. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most often in the chair.

1. I’m confused... what’s the difference?

Think of it as Relaxing vs. Hydrating.

Wrinkle Injections (Botox®): These work on the muscles. By gently relaxing the muscles that cause scowling or squinting, we smooth out the lines on the surface.
Skin Boosters (Profhilo®): These work on the skin itself. It is an ultra-pure hyaluronic acid that acts like an "injectable moisturiser," stimulating your own collagen to give you a firmer, glowing complexion.

2. Will I look "fake" or "frozen"?

Absolutely not. As dentists, we work with millimetre precision every day. Our philosophy is "Less is More." * With Botox, you will still be able to express yourself and look like you—just a well-rested version.

With Profhilo, there is no "plumping" or volume added to your cheeks or lips; it simply improves your skin's bounce and texture.

3. Why should I see a Dentist for this?

You might be surprised, but dentists are facial specialists!

Anatomy Experts: We spend years studying the nerves and muscles of the face.
The "Gentle Touch": We perform delicate injections in sensitive areas every day. Our techniques are designed to be as painless as possible.
Regulated Safety: You are in a sterile, clinical environment regulated by the CQC, ensuring the highest standards of care.

4. When will I see results?

Botox: You’ll start to see a change in 3–5 days, with the full "smoothing" effect appearing at 14 days.
Profhilo: This is a two-step process. You’ll have two sessions, four weeks apart. Most patients notice a "lit-from-within" glow about a week after the second session.

5. Is there any downtime?

Botox: You might have tiny red bumps for about 20 minutes (like a mosquito bite), but these fade quickly.
Profhilo: You will have small, visible bumps at the injection sites for 24–48 hours as the product spreads under the skin. We recommend not booking this right before a major event!

6. How do I get started?
